Information for Our Patients

When you first visit the Oakville Hearing Centre, audiologist Nicole Clark will make sure she gets to know you, and your needs and goals, so that she can help you achieve optimal hearing health.

Preparing for Your Appointment

Bring any previous test results with you. This can help the audiologist to determine whether your hearing has changed or whether it has remained stable.

Bring a friend or family member with you to take notes when you go to the hearing clinic for a consultation. There is an awful lot of information presented during a hearing aid consultation, and four ears are better than two!

What To Expect During Your First Visit

During your first visit to our office, we'll start by spending some time getting to know you. We'll ask you questions about your concerns regarding your hearing, and what you hope to achieve from your consultation and/or treatment.

Next, we will perform a comprehensive hearing test. This should take about half an hour, depending on your type and degree of hearing loss. Learn More ›

Based on your hearing loss needs, we may schedule a hearing aid fitting. We'll provide you with information about the different types of hearing aids that might help your hearing loss, what their limitations are, and the pros and cons of the different makes and models. Learn More ›

We're here for you, each step of the way.

Throughout your appointment, you'll have plenty of opportunities to ask your audiologist questions. Talk to us about situations in which you have trouble hearing, and ask in which of them you can reasonably expect improvement. For example, will your ability to hear conversations at the dinner table improve? What about at a restaurant, or at work?

Take all the time you need; we're happy to answer all your questions. After all, this will help us better understand your hearing health goals, to better achieve them!
